Position Papers
Requirements
- Typed
- Single-spaced
- 12 point font
- Times New Roman
- 1 inch margins
- One paper per topic
- Maximum one page per paper (excluding citations)
- Works Cited in MLA format (including in-text citations)
- Exported as a PDF, one PDF per topic
- The name of each file looks like this:
- Committee Name - Country Name - Last Name
- The first five lines of your paper looks like one of the two examples below

How to Get Feedback
- Go to MUNUM.org
- Go to Committees > Find your committee
- Find the email address for your chair(s)
- Send the PDF of your paper to them
- Before April 6th
How to Submit Paper
- Go to MUNUM.org
- Go to Delegate Resources > Position Papers
- Scroll down and find the big Position Paper Submissions Google Form
- Check and double-check your paper follows the ELEVEN requirements above
- Fill out the Google Form
Further Guidance
Background: Definitions of terms, stats on who is affected by the problem, how many people, broader worldly implications, …
Past UN actions: Programs, events, resolutions - what other countries participated too? These can be allies to you.
Domestic policies: Your country and its leaders’ beliefs on what the world should do, and why. MUST be country’s opinion, not your own - maybe you disagree with human trafficking but if your country’s economy relies on it… you have to agree with it
Possible solutions: How can the committee improve on what happened in the past, keeping in line with your country’s stances?
